*** Digital Copies of Submissions are Required***

Due to the surprise success of our last anthology, Tyrannosaurus Press and the staff of The Illuminata are happy to announce a new Illuminations writing contest. The winning entry will receive a $25 prize, and all submissions will be considered for inclusion in volume two of Beacons of Tomorrow. This is an excellent opportunity for budding authors and seasoned writers alike.

A fee of $5.00 per entry ($5.50 if you use the Paypal link on this page) is required. Multiple submissions are allowed and encouraged. Entries fees will be used to finance this project and future short fiction anthologies. Once published, copies of Beacons of Tomorrow v2 will be made available to contributors at a substantial discount. Our goal remains the same: To help unknown and talented writers gain some exposure for their work.

Entries will be judged in the following manner: A panel of judges will read and rate all submissions on a scale of 0 to 5. Stories that score in the top 20 percentile will be guaranteed inclusion in the anthology. Stories at score between the 20th and 30th percentile will be considered runners-up, and will be given the opportunity to revise their work based on the judges' recommendations and resubmit for approval. This workshopping process was one of the best-loved features of the last anthology project, and even winning entries will be given the benefit of the judges' commentary (they just won't be obligated to act on those suggestions). The submission with the highest overall score will be awarded a check for $25.

If a work is selected for inclusion, the author will agree to give Tyrannosaurus Press exclusive English language print rights to the story for the period of one year, and will allow Tyrannosaurus Press to publish the story in the aforementioned anthology (but in no other works without permission) in perpetuity. The also will also grant Tyrannosaurus Press the nonexclusive right to print the work or excerpts of the work on its website and in The Illuminata ezine. All other rights to the story will remain with the author, and the author may decline his right of inclusion at any time prior to signing the contract.

A contract will be sent when the story is accepted for inclusion.

Entry fees may be paid online or by mail. To pay online, use the Paypal link on this page. To pay by mail, send a check or money order for the appropriate amount, made payable to Tyrannosaurus Press LLC, to:
